Saturday: Benefit for Ethan Murphy @ 6-10PM
Benefit for Ethan Murphy who is fighting Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer in children. The event will be held at the St. Francis Church Gymnasium located at 1031 Chenango Street in Hillcrest on the last Saturday in April. Free will offering at the door accepted. Enjoy food, drink, music, entertainment, basket raffles, 50-50 raffle, Zumba demo, performances by the Dance Connection dancers and fun for all age groups!!

Saturday: Annual Orchid Show @ 10AM - 9PM
The Annual Orchid Show at the Oakdale Mall Center Court in Johnson City, NY presented by the Southern Tier Orchid Society of Endicott, NY will showcase beautiful orchid exhibits with judging, raffle, plenty of plants for sale and expert advice on growing orchids exhibits by local growers. Saturday: Chicken BBQ @ 10:00am
A chicken BBQ will be held at the 1st Presbyterian Church of JC. (The Church by the Arch) at the corner of Main St. and Floral Ave. on the first Saturday in May. from 10:00 until sold out. We will be selling 1/2 BBQ chicken for $5.00 per half and dinners for $7.50.

Saturday: Common Threads Quilters' Guild - Quilt Show 2015 @ 10:00am - 6:00pm
Common Threads Quilters' Guild is hosting their 2015 Quilt Show. The show will run on Saturday May 2nd from 10am to 6pm and Sunday May 3rd from 10am to 4pm at the Western Broome County Senior Center at 2801 Wayne Street, Endwell, NY. Joining us this year are the members of the BC Stitchers Embroidery Guild. Our featured quilt is "Common Friendships" made by our guild members. It is based on our "Common Bride" pattern by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts who has graciously given us permission to use it. The quilt will be raffled off at the end of the show and winner need not be present to win. Tickets can purchased from any guild member and at the show. Half of the priceeds from the sale of raffle tickets will be donated by S.T.A.T. (Southern Tier Alternative Therapies) for Fargnoli Farm's riding program for autistic children and teens. There will be over 100 quilts on display (including the traveling Storybrook Quilts made by Court House Quilters of New Jersey), a vendors mall dedicated to fabrics and sewing notions and Common Threads Boutique that will have items made by guild members for sale. Sunday: The Creation Choral Performance @ 4PM
The SUNY Broome Choral Groups and the Basically Bach Ensemble's Choir will present the Oratorio, The Creation by Joseph Hayden on Sunday (Mother's Day) at Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial UMC at 4:00pm. Pre general admission tickets will be sold by its combined membership: Stud/Seniors $7.00, General $9.00. Door sales: Stud/Seniors $10.00, General $12.00. The soloists will be Brenda Dawe, Soprano, Gerald Grahame, Tenor, Thomas Goodheart, Baritone, and the conductor is Fitzroy Stewart.

Sunday: 4th Annual Why Not Tri Triathlon at JCC @ 9a
The JCC will hold it's 4th Annual Super Sprint Triathlon for teens and adults on the first Sunday in June. The event will be held at the JCC, 500 Clubhouse Road in Vestal. Participants can enter individually, or as a team of three. The event is open to the entire community and will include a swim portion (225 Yards), a bike portion (5 Miles) and a run (2 Miles). Sunday: "Out Over 50" picnic
The Binghamton City Schools Alumni Association will be holding its seventh annual "Out Over 50" picnic this July. The event was started in 2009 as a reunion for all those who have been out of high school been for over 50 years. We mail out information to several thousand alumni. The event is also used to raised money for annual scholarship awards.This coming June, we will award four $500 scholarships to graduating BHS seniors. Twelve scholarships of $500 each have been given out over the past 4 years. We would like to give you the opportunity to be part of our celebration. Become a sponsor and help keep the cost of the picnic affordable for all to attend. You generosity will be acknowledged in the picnic program and the Alumni Association's newsletter. Donations of $100 or more will be listed as Sponsors. Donations of less than $100 will be listed as Patrons. You are also welcome to provide us with a banner sign to be displayed at the picnic. This year's picnic is July 26 and to ensure your name is in the program, we would appreciate receiving your gift by June 30. Checks should be made payable to Binghamton City Schools Alumni Association and mailed to Sandy Ferrante, 55 Gaylord St., Binghamton, NY 13904.
